Taxi Marshals
OLDHAMS Taxi Marshal scheme was launched on the 23rd February 2006.
What's this all about then?
The aim of this scheme was to make a weekend out in Oldham safe, by providing the public with a marshalling service which is fully supported by the Police, LA Licensing and the CCTV centre.
The marshals manage a supervised zone to ensure the safe boarding of the public leaving the late night economy.
Street Safe currently employs three SIA trained uniformed taxi marshals Friday & Saturday evenings from 11.00pm - 4.00am to provide re-assurance, in conjunction with the police, and provide a focal point for the public to disperse from the town.
Where is the Taxi Rank?
The marshals are based at the Taxi Rank, St Marys Way at the side of Maloneys PH.
They have direct communications link with the CCTV, late night venues and with the taxi drivers.
