GOLD AWARD WINNERS 2006
BAR BUDDA & LIQUID/ENVY
Well done to both these establishments.. a credit to Oldham
Have you ever been in a pub or club and thought the staff are rude, the place is a tip, the toilets are disgusting?
Yeah well read on...
This scheme is a joint initiative between Greater Manchester Police and Oldham Council. The scheme has been introduced to improve standards within the licensed trade and to offer support to licensees who seek to comply with both the letter and spirit of the law, those who maintain good management practices and those who have clear customer focus.
The scheme is open to all licensees and managers who run on and off licensed premises in Oldham Borough. Membership of the scheme is FREE OF CHARGE to all licensed premises, but members must sign up to and adhere to one of the scheme's Codes of Practice. The scheme is designed to raise the standards of the on and off licensed premises so that the customers benefit from a better surrounding and customer care.
The scheme will encourage the industry to train bar staff adhere to local authority protocols and play an active part in the reduction of crime within the borough.
Premises can either achieve the Silver Award or Gold Award as part of this scheme.
Silver Award will denote that the premises have proved sufficiently that they have adhered to the licensing legislation and local authority policy on licensing; most premises will achieve this award.
Gold Award winners will receive close scrutiny from the Pub Safe Committee and will have achieved a standard above and beyond what is expected from them. Look out for the Brass Plaque outside the premises, which will denote that they are GOLD Award holders and should provide a quality service.
