Minor Injuries Unit

Police stood around an ambulance

The Minor Injuries Unit was launched within the Town Centre of Oldham on 23rd March 2006. The new vehicle has designed to reduce the amount of Ambulance calls to the town centre by acting as a triage centre for the Accident and Emergency Department at Oldham Hospital.

The M.I.U received a large amount of positive publicity with newspaper, radio and television coverage.

The general public have received the unit with a positive approach since it’s introduction to the streets of Oldham. Staff from St John Ambulance will be out with the vehicle in the Town Centre on Saturday evenings and at various community events around the borough.

Funding for this project has been kindly provided through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
